Srimans Madhavakkannan and Murali Rangaswami have already paid their tributes to AchArya RaamAnujA's SaraNAgathi gadhyam, Sriranga Gadhyam and Sri Vaikunta Gadhyam in the context of this glorious day – Panguni Utthiram -at Srirangam .

Sriranga mahAthmya slOkam points out why Srirangam and Sri Ranganaayaki samEtha Srirangarajan are important to us:

smruthimAthra agha naasEna pavithrENa cha SaarngiNA
yayaa kayaa cha vidhayaa sambhandha: sa thu paavana:

(Meaning): The Lord of Srirangam is capable of removing our sins at the very thought of Him ; He is the purest among pure and holds in His hand the mighty bow of Saarangam (aruLamudham podhintha Kovil of Saarngi). If we develop a relationship with Him by whatever means or whatever kind , that relationship (Sambhandham) would destroy all of our great sins and make us pure .

It has been my bhAgyam to post a series of articles on Sri RanganathA's MahAthmyam , His adulation by AzhwArs , AchAryAs and NaadhOpAsakas last year. They are available for reference in the Dhivya Desam section. These were written in the context of Sri RanganathA Temple construction at Pomona , NY . Sri RangaanthA has arrived here now and His prathishtai is going to take place on July first week. On behalf of the Sri RanganathA Kaimkarya Committe , I invite you all keep the July 4th weekend date aside to attend the functions here. With the divya dampathi's anugraham , we hope to celebrate the PramAthi year's Panguni Uttaram serthi sevai here in New York at His new temple .

Achaarya RaamAnujA refers to JithanthA sthothram blessed to us by Sounaka Maharishi in his SaraNAgathi gadhyam. A study of this marvellous sthOthram by AchArya RaamAnujA has left a deep imprint in his mind as one hears the echos of the thoughts expressed by Sounaka Maharishi for loka kshEmam. In tomorrow's posting, I will refer to selected slOkams of Jithanthaa sthothram to indicate the sambhandham of SaraNAgathi Gadhyam passages to them.
